Hey guys, so in my Hay Day (lol)I used to be a dancer (among my many many other talents). No, not booty clapping shake your ass for a dolla mama dancer... but a trained, choreographed dancer. Anyway one of my close childhood friends that I grew up with (and worked with) back in the days is one fourth of the newly signed singing sensation girl group Electrik Red.
(Lesley Lewis in blue on the right end)
These lovely ladies have been the go-to-girls for dance talent in the music video industry for quite some time. They have toured with Janet, Aaliyah and Usher to name a few and have individually and collectively been featured in almost every hip-hop video you can think of. Because of their innante talent and unstoppable work ethic it was only matter of timing before their dream of forming their own successful group would come true.
Other media sources would have you believe that these ladies randomly met one day on a video set, but knowing them personally I can tell you that these femme fatales were introduced to each other by my cousin, Garvin Baptiste (founder of GQ Models and a well respected force in the industry; whose known for his eyes/ear for talent).
I couldn't be happier for these ladies (Lesley, Binkie, Sarah and Naomi). You can find their music videos and footage of them just goofing off on Youtube. Just plug in Electrik Red and enjoy!!. So far their music videso include: "Electrik City", "Drink In My Cup", "So Good" and "Friend Lover".
They have amazing personalities and there's never a dull moment watching these women.
Here they are making a cameo appearance in The Dream's "Rocking That Thing" video. They are signed to his Radio Killa Records/Island Def Jam.
